Announcing LEAD North Class 8

December 19, 2016 Leadership Tulsa

Leadership Tulsa is pleased to announce the eighth class of LEAD North, a program dedicated to bringing leaders from all sectors together to gain the knowledge, skills and network necessary to make meaningful change in north Tulsa. The program is not a starting point, but rather a professional development opportunity for men and women who have already demonstrated a commitment to the north Tulsa community.

“The LEAD North Class of 2017, or LEAD North 8, has been selected based on their commitment to practicing leadership, reflecting and learning in groups, and their desire to contribute even more to north Tulsa’s vitality,” said Ashley D. Philippsen, LEAD North program director.

Throughout the six-month educational program, participants develop their leadership capabilities as they build strong relationships with fellow classmates and current community leaders. Through experiential learning, discussion groups, on-site visits, class projects and other leadership development activities, participants gain a deeper understanding of critical community issues, apply their talents toward addressing these issues in the future and increase their civic engagement.

“It is our hope that each LEAD North graduate is able to use the knowledge and enhanced leadership skills gained through the program to influence positive change on the north side,” Ashley said.
