New Voices is designed to increase the diversity in board leadership positions across Tulsa.
The New Voices Board Internship Program is offered in partnership with the Tulsa Area United Way and Mosaic, Tulsa Regional Chamber’s Diversity business council. All participants will have the opportunity to serve a one-year appointment on a TAUW agency board. Additionally, they will receive inside looks at Tulsa City Public Boards and Commissions and private for-profit boards. Those successfully completing the program will have additional help with permanent board placements.
Leadership Tulsa is seeking candidates with under-represented racial, cultural, religious, and ethnic backgrounds who have the commitment to serve in volunteer board leadership roles. Participants will gain training and support through an overnight opening retreat, nine morning educational sessions and two evening mixers with board mentors.
Participants are chosen based on their application and limited to 15-25 people.
We are currently in session with New Voices Class 12. We will begin accepting applications for Class 13 in Fall 2021. The cost is $300 and scholarships are available.
