In honor of Leadership Tulsa’s 50th anniversary, we are highlighting our members, as these valuable alumni and Tulsans are leading the way for future Leadership Tulsa program participants. Member dues allow continued access to the membership center and other opportunities, but also provide scholarships and programs for future LT participants.
Cynthia Qualls is a long-time member of LT and an alum of LT 360 class 55. She’s the chief resource development officer at Tulsa Area United Way, which means she’s responsible for managing all the fundraising activities of the United Way, including the $25 million annual fall fundraising drive. “Like the United Way, Leadership Tulsa connects businesses and communities. My membership supports an organization that helps connect community members, develop a sense of comradery among the participants and introduces Tulsans to impactful speakers.”
The strong connection between the TAUW and LT drives Cynthia’s continued involvement. “I’m helping future members of LT, but I’m also helping Tulsans. LT manages the New Voices program which trains leaders to serve on nonprofit boards, many of them being our nonprofit partners which create a positive impact for Tulsa.”
Cynthia recommends anyone considering LT to just do it. “You’ll be exposed to community leaders and learn lessons that you’ll carry forward throughout your career.”
Thank you, Cynthia, for your continued membership and your support of LT!
