About the Facilitators
Dr. Sid Ellington
Dr. Sid Ellington is a Professor of Practice-Nonprofit Leadership and Management at the University of Oklahoma and Retired Naval Special Warfare Officer (SEAL Officer). A native of the great state of Oklahoma, Sidney T. Ellington returned to his home state bringing almost four decades of experience in military, education, and nonprofit service to the Department of Political Science. He currently serves as a Professor of Practice in the field of nonprofit management. His research and teaching interests span the fields of counterinsurgency, small wars, military policy, leadership, education policy, and nonprofit management.
In addition to teaching classes in various aspects of nonprofit work, Dr. Ellington’s current work centers on increasing the opportunity for paid internships for students pursuing degrees in nonprofit management and toward further developing cooperative engagement and partnerships with Oklahoma’s nonprofit community. He is a faculty advisor for the Grant Writer’s Association as well as The Oklahoma Group.
Dr. Ellington’s published work has appeared in Navy Times, Defense & Foreign Affairs, Stars and Stripes, On The Move, Public Integrity, and Airspace and Power Journal. He is also the recipient of the 2016 American Legion’s National Education Award. Ellington holds a Ph.D. from the University of Oklahoma, and a Master’s Degree from the Naval Postgraduate School.
Dr. Beth Adele
Dr. Adele joined Oklahoma City University (OCU) as its Chair of the Mass Communications Department in the fall of 2019. Since then, she has added the titles of Associate Professor and Director of the Nonprofit Leadership department. Prior to OCU, she was the Director of Marketing at Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma. Beth has also served as the Acting Chair and Assistant to the Dean at Cameron University’s School of Business, as well as the Director of Career Services and Instructor of Marketing at the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) where she was instrumental in the creation of the Veteran Higher Education Resources Office.
Beth earned her Ph.D. in Human Resource Development at The University of Texas at Tyler with an organizational development and change management emphasis. Beth is also a graduate of UCO with her Bachelor of Music and MBA degrees. She is an alum of Leadership Edmond Class XXIX and holds a Nonprofit Management Certification from the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits as well as an Instructional Design Certification from the Association for Talent Development (ATD). Beth lives in Edmond and has three children with her husband, CSM Adam Rogers, of the 1-160 FA part of the 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team of the Oklahoma Army National Guard.
Dr. Robby Hedrick
Dr. Robby Hedrick has over 15 years of experience in leadership, executive management, and cross-functional team leadership. He has a doctoral degree in education from Baylor University for Educational Learning and Organizational Change. This is supplemented by his MBA from Oklahoma Christian University and a master’s in organizational leadership from the University of Oklahoma. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force and Army.
He directs, defines, collects, and analyzes data points to ensure the success of the Bunker’s Transition Services Program. This includes the development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the program system, procedures, activities, and funding. Dr. Hedrick also identifies and implements process improvements, projects, strategic plans, and market development opportunities for the Bunker.
